Children arriving at school before 8.45am must be supervised by an adult or come into breakfast club. If your child is going to be absent please ring school first thing in the morning. Please see our Attendance Policy for more information.

Cycling to School

From September children wishing to cycle to school must complete a permission slip and wear a safety helmet.

Parking Outside School

Parents must park safely and legally outside school. This means that parents must not park on the zig-zags, yellow lines or the pavement near school. There is plenty of safe parking along Balmfield Street, please use it. Parents must not use the school car park, even to drop off or collect children.

Safe Walking

Can parents and children please use the pedestrian entrance to school.

Do not cut across the car park, as this is dangerous.

Concerns and Complaints

We are committed to working closely in partnership with all parents regarding their children, If you have a concern about any aspect of your child’s education please speak to the class teacher in the first instance; most issues can be resolved at this stage.

Further to this you can contact Mr Travis or Mrs Foster.

Medicine in School

As a general rule it is better for all medication to be given in the home, but if it is necessary for your child to have medication either temporarily or on a regular basis in school, please complete a permission slip available from the school office.

School can only administer prescribed medicine from a doctor.

Inhalers- if your child needs a reliever (blue) inhaler to treat the symptoms of Asthma they must bring a spare one, with their name on, to keep in school.

Homework

Our homework policy is to leave weekends free for children to enjoy with their families.

Your child will receive homework on a Monday and a Wednesday appropriate to their age and ability.

In addition to this regular reading practise is essential for all ages.
