Happy New Year !
We wish you and your families all the very best for 2021.
We will continue to work very hard and will build on the skills that we have developed during the Autumn term.
In our Religion work we will be looking at the Books used in Church by our parish family. We will also study Thanksgiving and think about how we give thanks to God through the Eucharist.
In our English work we will be focussing on the author Oliver Jeffers - how many stories do you know that he has written ? We will continue to practise our joined up writing using the Letterjoin formation. Our spellings will focus on prefixes and common exception words.
Keep practising your counting skills - to 100 forwards and backwards, in 10s 5s and 2s, odd and even numbers and in 3s as far as you can. We will continue our work on Multiplication and Division, then moving on to length and height, and shape.
Please refer to the curriculum overview on the school website for other areas of work that the children will be covering this term.
P.E is on Wednesday and Thursday. The children should come to school in their P.E just on Wednesday. The school P.E kit is a plain white t-shirt, a pair of black or navy shorts and black pumps. It is crucial that the children wear appropriate footwear in order to ensure their safety on the playground. We will be doing P.E outside whenever possible, so the children can wear black or navy tracksuit bottoms/leggings and a black or navy tracksuit top or sweatshirt.
Reading books - the children have been given a reading book to take home to read. Please bring the book to school each day, and also remember to sign your child's reading record book when you have heard them read.
Homework will be assigned on Monday to be completed by Thursday. Children are able to complete ther homework online through Seesaw, or on a paper copy.
Please do not hesitate to ask if there are any questions.
