Hello and welcome to Year 4! Thank you all for a welcoming and wonderful first half term at St Chads.

This half term in English, the children will begin by looking at narrative poetry and will create their own poems. We will also learn how to write a non-choronological report about our Topic, Ancient Egypt, as well as creating persuasive pieces of writing.

In Maths we will be focusing on our timestables to help prepare the children for their Year 4 timestables test later in the year. We will also be recapping addition and subtraction and we will be learning about different measurements.

In R.E, we will celebrate our differences and talk about being Chosen. We will be learning about how through Baptism and Confirmation, people are given the gift of the Holy Spirit and are called to respond in our lives.

In our topic, Ancient Egypt, we will be exploring who the Ancient Egyptians were, what they did and whether Ancient Egypt deserves its reputation as one of the most important early civilisations.

This half term our Science topic is 'Animals Including Humans'. During this unit, children study food chains and digestion. In particular they look at teeth and consider how what an animal easts impacts its behaviour.
