In Year 6 our learning takes place through fun, engaging structured activities using a variety of teaching and learning styles to cater for the needs of all the children. We strive to promote the Gospel Values and we endeavour to ensure that our children become independent, confident, creative and caring individuals.

Homework will be handed out on a Monday and should be returned the following Monday.

The children will be given:

  • Spellings to learn
  • A SPaG activity (SPaG stands for spelling, punctuation and grammar)
  • A Maths or Reading paper

Spelling test day is Monday.

Children will also take home a book to read. This should be read for 10-15 minutes a day.


Important Dates

Our PE day is Wednesday.


In 2020 the KS2 SATs will take place between Monday 11th May 2020 and Thursday 14th May 2020. Over this period pupils will sit 6 different tests: SPaG (Paper 1: SPaG questions and Paper2: Spelling Test), a Reading paper and 3 Maths papers (Paper 1: Arithmetic, Paper 2: Reasoning and Paper 3: Reasoning).

SPaG stands for spelling, punctuation and grammar.



Correct uniform is to be worn for school. P.E. kits should stay in school throughout the week. Note that jewellery is not allowed to be worn in school.
